I swear, Google and Yahoo! should just merge, all they do is copy each other. I'll still take Google over Yahoo! anyday.
Yahoo! has launched a system to show the "Web Rank" popularity of pages viewed by those using its toolbar. It's similar to Google Toolbar's long-standing PageRank (PR) meter, and it brings with it some of the same potential problems.
The Google Toolbar PR meter reflects how popular Google believes a page is, based on the number and quality of links that point at it. Sounds great. But adding this meter was one of the worst things Google ever did.

1. It could work best if Yahoo's new web rank toolbar also factors in 'enhanced' paid listings from the Site Match Pay Per Click program. Is Yahoo planning on clearly disclosing all paid entires to users. How about a Pay Per Click toolbar? How much is each company bidding to be listed in Yahoo? That metric would be both informative and relevant, considering Yahoo's recent interest in blending paid inclusion results with content relevant natural listings. Yahoo! your "life engine", just have your credit card ready.
