21. I have yet to see the 250 MB free storage on hotmail announced by microsoft. It has been three months since microsoft announced it. Another microsoft lie?

The only reason I still keep a hotmail account is that it was the first email account I signed up for and is linked to a lot of my other accounts and people.

I wish we could have email portability like the telephone number poratbility.

23. Sometime over this past weekend Hotmail upped my storage quota to 250MB. I've received no emails or notices from Microsoft or Hotmail about it, and all my friends who have checked are still at 2MB.

Has anyone else gotten 250MB from Hotmail? I'm using a free Hotmail account, by the way.

26. Maybe I read too many tabloids but ...

I checked my Hotmail account last night. Fuming that i was nearing the paltry 2mb limit, I deleted some stuff and refreshed. New mail - a gmail invite from a friend! fantastic.

I signed up for gmail. Going back into hotmail I replied to thank my friend for the invite. Then I refreshed hotmail once more. My email quota read 250mb.

Could be a coincidence (BIG coincidence) but are hotmail upgrading people's accounts when the spam filters detect the arrival of a gmail invite?! They could be doing this in the hope of persuading people to stay with them.

34. A couple of days ago I got a gmail invite that went straight into my hotmail spam folder. This is rather strange. However the most strange thing was that i have sent a normal email from my gmail account to my hotmail account and it was also marked as spam. I had to put the Gmail adres into the safe senders list. Otherwise it would always get the spam mark. This is not normal. This means that you can't be certain that your messages are received by hotmail users (most of them don't look at their spam folder anyway).

35. didnt work, I input the email of my hotmail account myself from my friend gmail invite. And didnt manage to recieve the invite at all. Not in junk even.... And its the second attemp... Junk is full of pharmaceuticals product adverts....Not even G invite...

36. Facts

A person with Gmail accounts sends an email to a hotmail account. Here is a couple of things that might happen:
- Hotmail user gets email in his inbox. Cool.
- Hotmail user gets this email in his junk folder. Not bad.
- Hotmail user don't get any email coming from gmail. No good.
Same thing happens with invitations.

And:
- Gmail user did't even get a warning about the block of the email sent to hotmail. Not a rebounce. Gmail user won't know for sure if the email is recieved or not.
- If Gmail user sends an email to a Yahoo-mail user, this email is sent to the Bulk folder.

But:
- Microsoft claims that this is a bug with their anti-spam filter. They're blocking an IP range used by Gmail. Well, that explains a lot.
- They're claiming that they'll fix this problem soon. Well, on another topic, I'm still waiting for my 250mb storage upgrade in hotmail.
