Gary Price at SearchEngineWatch reports that Answers.com is providing at least some definitions from the Google search results pages, in conflict with Google's long-standing affiliation with Dictionary.com. Answers.com is the latest evolution of Gurunet (I was the national media spokesman for Gurunet during a portion of 2004), an answer engine that provides word definitions and other reference support. Gurunet recently switched from a subscription model to a B2B and ad-supported consumer interface. I have not been able to generate a Google results page that uses Answers.com.

1. Why doesn't Google just make its own dictionary they have every thing else?
