Pardon me if I get excited about this—I've been waiting for it. The dynamism of
Google's local search just took a leap
forward with the integration of Keyhole
satellite imagery into Google Maps. These are the three pieces of the puzzle, so
far: Google Local, Google Maps, and Keyhole. The beautiful maps rendering of
Google Maps is integrated into Google Local, whose local search engine is integrated into Google Maps. Keyhole stood to
the side as an independent application, and now static images from that application are integrated into Google Maps.
You can drag and zoom them just like the maps. Local search results are overlayed on the images just as in Maps and
Local. Keyhole, the application, is still highly recommended for interactive fly-overs of terrestrial landscapes, and
for its own categories of local search.
Google had already taken a definitive lead in the local-search battle when it introduced Maps with the Local engine
bundled in. Keyhole held tantalizing promise. Part of that promise has just been realized, and I can't wait to see what
happens next.

(Page 1)2. Well, that's certainly a cool feature. When I get myself a helicopter, I can use the aerial photo to figure out where I'm supposed to land. Seems to me that for most people, there won't be much use to this feature other than to look at their house from the sky...which would be fun....about once. I find it hard to believe Google can't find a better place to pit it's resources. That being said, I like the look and feel of Google maps compared to others, but I think they're still loading info. I have been unable to find addresses that exist on Yahoo! maps.

3. My company EarthSat has made it to the "Big Time". Google Maps (maps.google.com) are now featuring our data on their site. This is an awesome thing. If you get a chance to look at maps.google.com there is a small button on the top right that says "Satellite". If you are zoomed out really far you will see our 15 meter color product. Try it out. There is a samll water mark burned in on the bottom left the says "EarthSat"
4. Hey,

5. If you look at the airport on the main island of Bermuda with the satellite feature you can see an airliner landing on the west end of the runway(look for the shadow behind the aircraft). What are the odds?
Enjoy
