Google Sitemaps is Google's first program to offer Webmasters some degree of control over how their sites are crawled and indexed. As such, Sitemaps is landmark—but not an easy program to participate in. Google's Sitemaps creation tool is on the arcane side. Naturally, third-party developers have stepped in to fill the breach, and Google gladly links to them. Two of the most usable Web interfaces for Sitemaps generations are SitemapsPal and Autositemap.
