Some buzz is circulating about Newsiness, a beta engine that delivers Google News results side-by-side with Yahoo! News results. I was put off last week by SEW's report that the results differed considerably from results displayed at Google's and Yahoo!'s sites, but after trying it today I think Danny Sullivan might have forgotten to manually sort by date. Newsiness sorts by date in default mode, but Google and Yahoo! do not—they sort by relevance first, and offer a date-sorting toggle. when all three pages are sorted by date, the results match up perfectly in my testing. And the thing is actually quite useful.
1. Suddently Google Gmail account is down. I keep getting a dialog box that says a secure server connection is imminent and do I want to go ahead. I click yes. It repeats with a second dialog box. I click it. The process repeats, forever, and forever, and forever.
Gmail indicates "loading" in black and white, then it turns to red. It never loads, the security box keeps repeating itself.
Finally I get a box that says the system could not perform the function, to try again in a few minutes.
The whole process repeats, and repeats, and repeats.
I cannot use my Gmail account very frustrating.
