I run a Windows household, but a glance at the GPeek screenshots reveals a lovely Gmail-checking widget for OS X. GPeek runs in one of three sizes—Mini, Long, and Full. It operates securely, and can run in multiple instances for simultaneous checking of multiple Gmail accounts.
