Quickly following Google's lead, and trailing behind Yahoo! by several years, AOL has launched an RSS-powered My AOL product. Unlike Google and Yahoo!, which use their personalization features to draw in new users, AOL is reserving its My page for current members. that exclusivity has a glitch, though; when I attempted to test it AOL regretted that I was no longer a member (I cancelled my account earlier this year after hanging on over ten years for the occasional jprivilege of reviewing AOL's products) but encouraged me to continue by using my AIM username and password. I did, and filled out a My AOL registration questionnaire, before the door was unceremoniously slammed. I don't much care, but AOL should decide whether it's an exclusive feature or not, and make it clear from the start.

1. I'm sure as soon as AOL figures out what it wants to be when it grows up, they'll let you know. Or not.
