Google + Meetroduction = Entree to IM

Internet News is reporting that Google is close to an acquisition of Meetroduction, a Chicago company and creator of Meetro, an IM-based proximity-sensitive community tool … it finds other members close to wherever you are. I can imagine Google somehow adding Meetro to its growing portfolio of community technology (Blogger blogging, Picassa/Hello photo sharing). [Thanks, Susan Kuchinskas]

2. Well this is all well and good, but now how are they going to link it together? The opportunity for merging these technologies is great, and it would be awesome to see the cool programs we would get if they did.
