Nick W at ThreadWatch observed that the Autolink feature in
Google Toolbar for Firefox was overwriting already-linked addresses when activated. This is not supposed to happen;
when scanning the page for addresses, Autolink is supposed to ignore any that are already linked to a mapping service.
Overwriting them forces those links to connect with Google Maps. ThreadWatch then received a
reassurance from Google that the overwriting is a bug that will be
fixed before Firefox Toolbar leaves beta.
Meanwhile, in the IE version of Google Toolbar, the Autolink feature is on by default, but instead of overwriting
links on the page, it offers address links to Google Maps in a drop-down list.

1. And BTW, you can set the Google toolbar to link to Yahoo Maps or MapQuest, even though GoogleMaps is the default.
