This is amazing. An Italian archeologist was perusing Google Maps and noticed an odd discolored patch. Investigating further, he determined that it probably represented buried ruins, and he was right. the actual ruins weren't visible in Maps (kids, don't bother treasure hunting), but the discoloration was, to the trained eye, a result of buried ruins causing the surrounding earth to appear sahded differently. 1. A truly amazing story. And he actually wasn't an archeologist, but "an Italian computer programmer."
All of this makes me wonder if the cure to various diseases aren't "hidden in the rainforest" but can actually be found on Google! ;)
