Part of the battle between Google and Microsoft over the employment status of Kai Fu Lee, the executive Google hired to head its China office who now is playing solitaire at his desk, is over where the trial should transpire. Google believes it would be more favorably conducted in California; legal conditions are better for Microsoft in Washington. A California judge has granted Microsoft's motion to leave the trial in Washington, though a reversal is reportedly possible today.
