Circumstances prevented my attending the Google Print debate at the New York Public Library last night, and further (unforeseen) circumstances prevented my listening to the Webcast [grrr]. Audio and video archives of the "Battle Over Books" will be posted here soon. The event was widely covered, from Publishers Weekly to Al Jazeera. Here is a Google News search of the event. One surprise: Lawrence Lessig was there, arguing for Google. Chris Anderson (long-tail expert and Wired editor) was slated, but I see no mention of his participation. Also Nick Taylor of the Authors Guild joined the AAP's Alan Adler, making the event a fairer fight than originally billed. The slate, then, was Taylor and Adler against Drummond and Lessig, with the NYPL president sitting in the middle with inclinations toward Google.
