Google hires Amazon's A9 chief executive

Google has hired Udi Manber, the chief executive of Amazons search engine, A9, as a vice president of engineering at Google. 

Manber’s role at Amazon’s A9 was VP Chief Algorithms Officer. He was previously a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Arizona, and received his Ph.D in Computer Science from the University of Washington.

Udi has also written a best-selling book entitled “Introduction to Algorithms – A Creative Approach”

With Manber’s interests lying with WWW applications including search and resource discovery, software tools, and design of algorithms, im sure Udi will be a great fit in Palo Alto with Google!

In the past little while as Google grows at an alarming rate, they have scooped up some pretty top execs from Microsoft, Ebay and others. Including Vint Cerf, the Internet pioneer.
