The "Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day" committee is led by chemical engineer Patricia Welesko Garland,
Engineers Week 2006 Chair. Ms. Garland is a member of the Society of Women Engineers and is the Combined Heat and Power
Program Manager at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
And Google has tons of engineers! So they are
participating in several offices in New York, Kirkland, and in Mountain View California. The Google offices are hosting
a couple of hundred girls from both middle schools and high schools to shadow a Google engineer, and go to interactive
workshops.
