Sensitive India Areas Rumored to be Removed from Google Earth?

The Indian government was worried about sensitive areas being available through Google Earth searches, so Google will be will look at taking these high resolution versions offline when presented to them.

The government was up in arms with particular locations in high resolution, specifically military installations, armed force headquarters, sensitive nuclear installations, and Rashtrapati Bhavan. These locations will now be replaced with low resolution imagery as India runs a high terror risk. Key portions of some Indian cities will also be blurred out.

UPDATE: In further research on this sensitive material, it was reported that images of sensitive Indian locations were being looked into by the Indian defense, science, and technology ministries as an order by the Prime Minister's office. With this instruction, they will also be looking at measures to proceed masking the area from satellite maps in a method that would pose no danger to the country. The methods for masking them have not been decided upon. As in the past, Google has provided maps that have had areas such as the White House blocked out with lower resolution versions, and undetailed rooflines.

Google India's public relations agency has said that Google has taken the Indian Government's concerns very seriously, and is willing to cooperate with them on this matter.

The White House, Pentagon, and other military institutions were at one time masked from Google maps.
