In an effort to help book publishers
generate revenue through the Google Book Search program, and deter from any copyright issues, books that are now part of
the Google Publisher program will be offering publishing houses the opportunity to sell their book titles online. The program will allow customers to purchase books online that the publishers want to offer unlimited access on. The prices will be decided upon by the publishers, and split between themselves and the Google. When books have been offered, Google will lift certain restrictions on the online views of the book pages. The publishers will have also have a say in whether the book can, or cannot be printed out and stored on a users computer.
There is no word as to a high and low end number of the cost on available books. My guess is that it will not be high, and will not compete with book stores and online book stores due to the fact that book publishers will have the choice whether they let consumers print and download versions.
