2. Google first released Voice Search as an experiment in Google Labs. It was functional for awhile and then went offline, seemingly never to return!

I definitely see possibilities for a new version of Voice Search that allows users to search via cell phone. Perhaps that's what this patent will enable?

3. I used it back in fall-2003 i believe. It was pretty amazing - it understood what i said, and results were instant on my screen. I caught it right at the end of the demo phase though, i think. I tried to show my co-workers a couple days later and it was already down, and it's been down since then...

5. Advertisers on Google, Yahoo et al, need to analyze the click-worthiness of their hosts. The IAB should put a premium on their value and demand a technical solution.

A comparison of the click throughs that result in hits on multiple pages within an advertiser's site versus the hit-and-runs of fraudulent clicks that knock at the front door and leave is necessary.

A prime example taken into account is when an average person that comes to your home page results in 2.4 clicks, but Adsense visitors produces only 1.2 clicks. The value of traffic from search engines versus other clicks, should allow advertisers to pay based on their worth so Google should be paid only 50 percent of its normal rate so that advertisers receive equal value.


If not, advertisers might as well transfer to other PPA models like pay-per-call or pay-per-lead, where again the ROI is easier to explain.
