Google Desktop 4, Whats New
Google has just released version four of its Google Desktop application. Google Desktop was designed to give users easy access to the information stored both on your computer and on the web. It searches out emails, music photos, files and folders, chats, Gmails, and web pages viewed by you to give you the best answer for your specific keyword search term.
With the launch of Google Desktop 4, we now see the use of widgets! Clocks, Calendars, and WiFi indicators can now all be displayed on your desktop with this tool. There is also an API for this tool, so you can expect a ton of great widget designs for everything you could have ever wanted.
Network administrators now have a special option to disable Search Across Computers on the consumer and enterprise version by simply blocking access to specific IP addresses.
Google Desktop 4 is also now available in available in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, and Brazilian Portuguese.

1. About the google desktop, I was so happy when I got the news: I installed it and used it and then...I just realized: man, I have to be careful, this google program indexes actually everything I have on my computer! I work for an online store in Romania, http://www.stilxxi.ro, and so there are a lot of things that I don't want google to know. Actually, there is this question I have (and I guess many of the google-addicted users have): what's going on with all that info that google stores about us all using and personalizing google? So, instead of having a useful tool-friend in google and his products, are we "indexed" too, and then, possibly, controlled?
About the last version ... I am so glad about the new features & eager to use them. The calendar and clock, even though so small in importance, are a real help to me.
