Google's Mountain View Wi-Fi Service

While Google's San Francisco Wi-Fi project is still under way with city officials and partner Earthlink, Google is steaming ahead with their plans at developing free Wi-Fi access in their hometown of Mountain View California.

Google has said that the plan is set to be fully completed by the end of June. This project is being developed solely by Google. There are no outside providers. Google is the ISP. They will be working with wireless technology providers to supply the signals, design, and build the network, but Google is going this one virtually on its own. Experimenting with new technologies, and who knows what else.

Ad the present moment, Google has said that there are no plans to place ads on the free service network, but if they feel that they could be beneficial to end users, they will look into that addition.

There has been no exact date as to the exact release date on this Mountain View project.
