Google unleashed a new version of its popular Desktop application. Google Desktop 4. And it's out of Beta!
The new Google Desktop has the added bonuses of 27 languages and a Google Desktop Gadget Designer development environment that lets users create their own very special gadgets. Best thing is, you don't even need to know code! The tool has a gadget user interface that makes it extremely easy to design your own gadget without hand coding xml.
For people looking for extra cash, Google is hosting a Google Desktop Gadget Contest specifically for developers. And yes there is a prize. A sweet prize of $8000 in Cash Prizes!
So button up your gadget gloves, and start developing. Google has this special contest open for the next month! All the best!
For any readers that do decide to develop a Google Desktop Gadget, drop a link to it in the comments, with a little description, and I will profile them when the contest is over.
