Google Blockage
This latest place is Myanmar, otherwise known as the Union of Burma in Southeast Asia, bordered by Tibet, Peoples Republic of China, and Laos.
Burma is a country tightly controlled by its military Government, and has been by 1992. Thus is probably why they have blocked Google.com and Gmail services. The largest ISP in the area has stated that users are prompted with Access Denied when trying to access these services.

(Page 1)2. This is not unnusual or surprising unfortunately. The only interesting thing is how long they have taken to do it. Unfortunately the whole country is blocked from nearly all foreign media, so most email providers are blocked.
The fact that Google is relatively new compared to Yahoo and Hotmail is the only reason it's been allowed for so long.

4. I live and teach in Thailand, and yes, Thailand does border Burma ;) I know firsthad the oppression Burma places upon its people, as they made me go inside my hotel around 9pm --curfew time. Though I have many burmese students who are just wonderful.
Its interesting that the other southeastern countries don't meddle in Burma's dictatorial government--the reason is because the Asean pact requires all countries in the area respect each other's sovereinty and autonomy.
