Google's Net Neutrality battle is still on the hotseat
The new bill will set up phone carriers and cable operators from any restrictions, and would be able to set fees however they see fit for delivering internet content.
Since companies like AT&T and Verizon are spending billions dropping fiber cables underground, they want the abilities to charge companies like Google and Yahoo for providing services over their cables.
If these bills are indeed passed, the telecommunications carriers would be in charge for upgrading, which in the eyes of many, we could see less upgrades, producing a slow speed of information for everyone.

(Page 1)2. I think thet the congresspeople who have defeated net neutrality have been paid off, at least indirectly by the telecom industry. Force them to live of that money , don't also provide them with the peoples money since they are evil people who don't give a d*** for the peoples interest.
DEFEAT THEM AT THEIR NEXT ELECTION TRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3. On what basis are they planning on charging content providers? I haven't seen any rational systems proposed. Are small, independent content providers (bloggers, small businesses) going to be charged for the bandwidth their users consume? Ridiculous.

4. Funny how Google is doing all the work here. Yahoo, MS, are surely effected heavily as well.
